HANDS-ON HELP... AT HOME OR ON THE ISLAND

The ABCDEFG's of Volunteering
Are you an architect, builder, carpenter, designer, engineer, fundraiser or group that wants to get involved in our project? Contact Our Haiti Orphans about putting together a plan for our orphanage and school.
Today, the children have no safe place to live unless a kind family has taken them in, usually in exchange for work. More than one of our girls have been sexually abused. That's why it's imperative that make the dream of an orphanage and school come true as soon as possible. We need angels!
For a partial list of books about Haiti and working in Haiti, take a look here.
HOW YOU CAN HELP FROM HOME
You don't need to travel to Haiti or speak Haitian Creole or French to help out in a big way. Following are some help we would love to get from volunteers.
Raising Funds for Food and Supplies
It's a never-ending job. If you'd like to contribute time and talents to fund raising, we are interested in getting in touch and making a plan. Checks for tax deductible donations should be made out to the registered name of our 501c3, Orphans of Isle de La Gonave D'Haiti.
Raising Awareness for Our Haiti Orphans
The more people who find out about our goals of filling bellies, filling backpacks, building futures and building an orphanage, the more we can help.
Buying The Property
We have found a piece of property in Anse-a-Galet, Haiti, perfect for building a safe place for the orphans of La Gonave to live and learn. The cost is $20,000. If you can help with a donation or fund raising toward purchasing this land, please get in touch.

Planning The Building
There are more than 75 orphans in our program, and that number could go up at any moment, due to natural disasters and disease. we welcome any plans, drawings or ideas for how the building will look and operate.
Recruiting Workers
Once there is a building plan, it will be time to find helping hands. If you have project management skills, they would be welcome. If you have a group, or know of an organization looking to take on a project like the Our Haiti Orphans orphanage and school, let us know!
HOW YOU CAN HELP IN HAITI
Anse-a-Galet is the main city of the island of La Gonave. Getting there from the capital of Port-au-Prince requires either taking the ferry out of Port Carries, hiring a private boat, or boarding a short flight. If you're interested in making the trip, please let us know in enough time to arrange for a meeting and accommodations.
Medical Support
If you are an individual or part of a group looking for a place to do good, from general medicine to inoculations to specialties such as dentistry, ophthalmology, nutrition and more, please get in touch and we will help you plan the best way to accomplish your mission.
Pay A Visit
Help deliver food and supplies. Come see the property for yourself. Meet the children of La Gonave and speak to caregivers. Let us know your interests and we will help you arrange any type of visit.
Boots on the Ground
Once plans have been finalized, we need workers. Please contact us if you are a skilled worker, a supervisor, or have a pair of helping hands willing to learn. We also need support crew, such as drivers, cooks and first aid.
Teachers and Caregivers
These children are eager to learn, and they need daily care. If you're interested in a position at the orphanage and school, you can make a lifetime of difference, no matter how much time you have to spend with us. Let us know what you're looking for so we can help set it up.
